Coraline's parents didn't bug too much about Norman being there. Mel had even teased them a little (even if she hadn't known about their feelings beforehand, she would've known then, considering the amount of blush that had come to both of them), which lead to Coraline leading Norman up to her room so that they could have some privacy. Luckily the awkwardness disappeared quickly, as they just talked for a bit, laughing with each other before something crossed Coraline's mind. "So… H-how long are you staying, anyways…?" she asked, a hint of worry in her voice. She didn't want him to go, of course. But she knew he wouldn't be able to stay forever, and it'd be better to know now, right? Norman turned to her, pulling out his phone and showing it to her. "I have an alarm set on my phone that'll let me know when it's midnight in Massachusetts time." He explained before putting it back in his pocket. "I told my parents I'd be back by midnight, so…" he trailed off. Coraline could tell that he didn't want to leave either. It was clear as day. So she decided that this was a good time to change the subject.
"So, um… You used your powers to get here, right?" she wondered. She smiled a bit when she saw that he seemed relieved by the change of subject. "Y-yeah... I think I'm finally starting to get used to my powers, actually…" he returned her smile. "What else can you do with them anyways?" Coraline asked. He blinked, thinking a little. "Well, um… There's this, I guess…" he brought his hand out in front of him, a small, green misty orb appearing just above it. It didn't take long for it to burst into thin air, both of the kids flinching a little. "I-I'm still not very good with that one, though." he admitted sheepishly. Coraline giggled a little after a moment. "I still think that it's cool…" she told him. He looked over at her again, his smile returning along with a small amount of blush. "What else can your powers do?" Coraline asked again. Norman had to think for a moment. He giggled a bit as a green aura went around his hands, just a little bit on his feet as he lifted up into the air slightly. "Well, there's levitation…!" he exclaimed. "Woah!" Coraline laughed. "That's so cool!" "Wanna try it out?" Norman wondered, offering her a hand. She hesitated before smiling and taking his hand, yelping in shock when he picked her up. She wrapped her arms around him tightly, though she was giggling. "Could you go higher, maybe?" she asked curiously. Norman raised an eyebrow with a small smirk. "Sure, if you really want to." He looked over at the window, then quickly teleported them outside. Coraline yelped in shock once more, looking down nervously. Her nervousness disappeared quickly and she was smiling again as she looked him in the eye. "High enough?" "Oh, you can be a serious jerk!" Coraline exclaimed jokingly. Norman laughed a little. "Alright, alright. You wanna get down?" he asked her, putting their joking aside for a moment. "If you don't mind, please." she answered, glancing down again. He responded quickly, teleporting them back down in her room. "There. Better?" he wondered, setting her down carefully after he landed. She nodded in response, smiling gratefully.
Suddenly something crossed her mind and she smiled brightly. "Y'know, Norm… I still haven't gotten to give you your gift…!" she exclaimed. Norman raised an eyebrow. "Gift? Y-you didn't have to get me anything, Cora…!" he smiled. She giggled. "I know, but… Trust me, I think you'll like it." she told him. "One sec, alright?" "Alright." he responded, watching curiously as she rushed out of the room. She skidded to a stop at the door turning to face him again when she remembered something. "Wait, you gotta close your eyes!" she scolded. He tilted his head in confusion, but he did obey and shut his eyes tightly. "Alright, they're closed." he smiled. "Perfect! Wait there!" he heard Coraline exclaim, followed by the sound of footsteps as she left the room. It didn't take long for her to come back and set something up near the door, which piqued at his curiosity when he heard a bit of commotion. He was tempted to take a peek, but he refused to open his eyes before he was told. He yelped a little out of shock when he suddenly felt himself getting tugged along by Coraline. She giggled, stopping just under the door. "Alright, you can open your eyes!" she told him. His eyes fluttered open and he found himself face-to-face with her. He looked around a little, not entirely sure why she had brought him under the door. He glanced upwards and did a double take, blinking in shock as his cheeks turned red. Mistletoe. Wait a minute wha- His thoughts suddenly screeched to a halt when Coraline brought him forward, her soft lips meeting his own. His eyes went huge, and for a moment he was frozen. That moment faded as they both melted into the kiss, Norman closing his eyes much like Coraline had already done. After a moment they released, and their eyes slowly fluttered open again, bright smiles on both of them. "… N-now that… Was the best gift ever." Norman exclaimed. Coraline giggled a bit, putting a few strands of hair behind her ear as blush ran across her face.
They both froze when they heard a beep come from Norman's pocket. He pulled out his phone, biting his lip a little. Coraline pouted. "You… Gotta go, huh…?" she wondered sadly. He looked over at her, then back at his phone. He stifled a very small laugh before tossing his phone back in his pocket and pulling Coraline close. She blinked in shock, though she was quick to smile sweetly at him as he leaned in for another kiss.
"They can wait."
