Norman closed the door behind him and went over to his bed, still clutching his arm tightly. He flopped down on the bed, curling up into a ball as the pain in his arm grew immensely. His eyes were shut tight as he groaned, shaking as his breath quickened and he started to change. Courtney came up and knocked on the door loud enough for him to hear. "Norman, what are you doing in there?!" she demanded. Norman tried to answer her, but he couldn't talk no matter how hard he tried. So instead he screamed at the top of his lungs, praying she would get the message that she needed to get help. Courtney jumped back a little, then came up to the door again. "Norman, I'm coming in!" she announced. Don't come in! Get help! he thought in panic as the pain slowly started to fade away. He looked up as the door opened. The second Courtney saw him she shrieked, which caused him to scream as well, though it was more out of shock. Courtney slammed the door behind her as Norman fell off his bed and she just stared at him with huge eyes. "W-what in the… H-how… WHAT DID YOU DO?!" she exclaimed. "I… Did… NOTHING!" he snapped in response. "It just happened!" he crawled back onto his bed, rubbing his head.
Courtney examined her brother, shaking and unsure of whether she should've been more scared or more worried. Just like the night before, Norman had sharp claws, sharp fangs and his ears were now those of a wolf. Except this time, he also had brown fur lightly covering his skin. He examined himself for a moment before scratching at his arm. "Well, this explains why I've been so itchy lately…" he exclaimed. "Don't scratch yourself!" Courtney snapped immediately. "Why not?" "You'll get… fur everywhere!" she groaned in disgust. "Ok one, it's my room. I really don't care. Two, it's not like I'm shedding on purpose…" he stated in annoyance. "Whatever! Just don't get any on me!" she warned. Norman smirked, getting an idea. "Oh? What if I were to do… This?" he started shaking on his bed like a dog, sending fur everywhere. "Hey! Norman, STOP IT!" Courtney yelled. "Make me!" he laughed in response. This was just too much fun. Courtney looked around, then smiled as she got an idea. She pulled out her phone and went to the ringtone, then changed the pitch and turned it on. Norman immediately froze and yelped, covering his ears. Courtney smirked and turned the ringtone off, fixing the pitch as Norman rubbed his ears, glaring at her. "That was just unfair!" he exclaimed. "You started it!" she sang. "I- Ah… Ok, maybe I did." He admitted, looking down at his feet as his ears went down a little. Courtney nodded, happy to be right. Norman examined himself again, trying to make sense of what was going on. After a moment a strong scent hit his nose, distracting him. He started sniffing around as he tried to figure out where it was coming from or what it could be. Courtney just raised an eyebrow as she watched him crawl around the room sniffing, and she wasn't very impressed. "What are you doing?" she asked, though she didn't really care. "I smell something." Norman stated flatly, continuing his search intently. "Uh, yeah, I can see that." Courtney rolled her eyes at his obvious answer. Norman's stomach growled as he walked over to the door, following the scent.
Suddenly he was stopped by Courtney. "Hey!" he exclaimed in annoyance. "Where do you think you're going?" she asked. "Downstairs!" he answered. He took a big whiff of the smell, drooling just a little. "I think someone's having barbeque outside… Whatever it is, it smells good!" he exclaimed, smiling excitedly. Courtney could swear his butt was wagging as if he had a tail. "Oh, no you don't! You are NOT going outside looking like that!" she exclaimed. Norman looked down at himself, thinking. He didn't really care if he looked different at the moment. He needed food. "B-but…" he stammered and looked up at her with big eyes, his stomach growling as he begged. "I'm starving!" "Starving?! You just raided our fridge!" Courtney exclaimed. Norman just shrugged a little. "Augh… Fine, I'll get you a sandwich or something…" Courtney explained. "Erm… Not exactly what I had in mind…" he smiled hopefully, thinking back to his small meal of chicken. "I don't care. You're getting a sandwich." Courtney told him flatly before leaving the room. Norman crossed his arms and growled in annoyance, going back over to his bed and sitting down as he waited for her to come back up. She'd probably get mad at him if he tried to go down after her, and he didn't really want to chance it. Besides, the note that their parents left for them said they'd be back soon enough. He really didn't want his parents to catch him like this, especially not his dad. He'd freak out. Norman looked over at the window, wondering if there was anything interesting outside. "Too bad I can't really leave my room…" he grumbled. It didn't take long for Courtney to come up with his sandwich. She tossed it over to him, and it was gone in seconds. "Jeez, don't choke yourself with the thing!" she exclaimed. "I'm not though. I'm simply eating." He stated, his mouth full of food. Courtney groaned in disgust and looked away. "Norman… Seriously, swallow first…" she ordered, refusing to look until he was finished. "Well, sorry." He apologized, though there was tons of sarcasm in his still-muffled voice. They both froze when they heard their parents downstairs. "I'll cover for you." Courtney assured, heading downstairs before Norman could argue.

The next morning, the first thing Courtney did was check on Norman. When she came in, he was still asleep, half of him hanging off his bed and his covers only briefly wrapped around him, though they were mainly on the floor. She could tell that he'd be falling off soon. But, he looked like himself again. No fur, no claws, just his normal features. Courtney sighed in relief and headed downstairs. She wasn't surprised when she saw both Perry and Sandra in the kitchen. "Sandra, do you know where the leftover chicken went?" Perry asked, looking in the fridge in confusion. "I'm not sure… Courtney, did you and Norman have it for supper?" Sandra asked, turning to Courtney. "There was over half of it in there! There's no way they could've eaten all of it!" Perry exclaimed, closing the fridge. "I didn't have any." Courtney answered. She looked over at the stairs when she heard a loud thud from Norman's room, indicating that he had finally fallen off his bed. After a moment he came down the stairs, grumbling and yawning. "What about you, Norman?" Sandra asked. Norman juts raised an eyebrow at her in confusion. "Uh… What?" "Do you know what happened to the leftovers? They were there last night, and now there's absolutely none left." Perry explained. Norman eyes snapped open, his thoughts immediately turning to the chicken. "Uh…" he wasn't sure if answering truthfully was such a good idea. "H-how much-" "Over half." Courtney answered before he even got to finish asking. His eyes went even wider. What?! It didn't feel like it was anywhere close to that much! he thought in awe. "Gee, uh… I-I really don't know…" he lied, taking a step back to the stairs. "Courtney, could I talk to you for a sec?" he asked quickly. Before even waiting for an answer he took her hand and dragged her up to his room. He closed the door behind them, then whipped around to face Courtney. "We need to find out what's going on." He stated immediately. "You ate that chicken, didn't you?" Courtney crossed her arms. "I didn't know that I ate the whole thing!" he argued. "Look, that's not the point! Well, it kinda is, but not entirely!" "Then what is the point?!" Courtney snapped in annoyance. Norman opened his mouth to answer, then just groaned instead, rubbing his temples. "Look, fighting's going to get us nowhere." He stated, looking back up at Courtney. "I know that." She groaned, rolling her eyes. Norman bit his tongue to avoid snapping at her again. "How about we just… Figure this out later. When I'm not as…" he trailed off, searching for the right word. "… Snippy." He decided. Courtney smirked a little. "Yeah. 'Snippy'." She teased. Norman immediately growled at her, taking a threatening step forward. She quickly took a step back, her hands raised in defence. "Alright, alright, sorry!" she apologized. He kept his angry stare on her for a moment before going back, his arms crossed in annoyance. "You might wanna work on that temper issue before you hurt someone…" Courtney told him sternly. Norman grumbled something under his breath that Courtney couldn't quite understand, but she didn't really care what he said either.
After a moment he seemed to freeze up, sniffing. Courtney raised an eyebrow as he lifted his nose up, slowly turning and walking over to the window. He opened it and leaned his head out a little, his eyes trailing down to someone on the sidewalk. After a moment of staring intently at the man he gasped. "That's him! That's the man I saw go off into the forest that night!" Norman exclaimed, turning to Courtney. Before she could even react – or see him move towards the door, for that matter – he was down the stairs and out the door.
He skidded to a stop behind the man. "E-excuse me, sir?" he called out. The man turned, gasping when he saw him. "You! I mean, uh… Yes?" he corrected. Norman raised an eyebrow for a moment, then shook his head a little. "I saw you go off into the woods the other day, and you looked really hurt… I wanted to make sure you were alright, but I wasn't able to find you…" he explained. The black-haired man examined Norman, looking him up and down. His brown eyes travelled to Norman's arm and Norman was tempted to take a step back, but instead he simply held his arm where the bite was. "Is something wrong…?" he asked worriedly. The man shook his head a little before answering. "Yes, yes… Sorry, I just…" he interrupted himself with a sigh and kneeled down to Norman, putting a hand on his shoulder, staring at him seriously. "Listen to me, alright? This is important." He stated. Norman raised an eyebrow, shrinking back just a little. "… W-what…?" he asked nervously. "I know this'll be hard to do, but…" the man took a pause, looking at Norman's arm again. "… You have to ignore any strange urges you get, alright? For your own sake, you don't want to get caught doing anything… Strange." He finished. Norman blinked for a moment, then backed out of his grip. "Erm… Thank you, sir, but… To be honest, I'm always caught doing 'strange stuff', so if you could just- Wait a second. How do you know about the urges?" he asked in shock. The man looked around, freezing when he saw someone. Norman looked over, not overly surprised to see the hunter he had encountered the day before. "If I find you again, I'll explain. But for now, just don't let yourself get caught." The man ordered sternly before getting up and rushing off. Norman blinked in shock, watching him leave. What was that all about? he wondered. And what did he mean by 'Don't get caught'…?
